Caving in The Top Section

Karamu Caves Classic Experience

The Top Section of the Cave involves exploring the first 200 metres into the mountain and takes approximately 2 – 2.5 hours.

Raglan Rock cater for a range of ability levels when venturing into the cave. Each ability group will usually reach the same destinations in the cave but take different routes to get there. For example; one group may go over a formation of rocks and a more challenging group may go underneath those same rocks yet still come out the other side near the same place.

Each guide use discretion to analyse which path best suits the group they are leading through the cave.

With large groups of 20 – 40 people, cavers are split between experienced guides to ensure smaller groups and manageable sizes.
